U.S. and European Market Roundup
· The DJIA up 221.11 points to 8,721.44 points.
· U.S stocks rose on Monday, sending the S&P 500 to its highest close in seven months, as reassuring economic data reinforced hopes that demand will stabilize, while General Motors' long-expected bankruptcy filing ended uncertainty about the automaker's fate.
· Elsewhere, the top European shares rose 2.8% to 886.27. In the Euro zone, manufacturing PMI rose to a seventh-month high of 40.7, up from 36.8 in April and just above the flash reading and economists' expectations for it to hit 40.5.

· Bursa Malaysia has appointed Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz as its global head of Islamic capital market, effective today.
· Low-cost carrier AirAsia will launch daily flights from Penang to Chennai, India in three to four months. The airline has been granted rights to fly the route by the government.
